About the Uvalde tragedy

Setting aside the President's horrible and despicable remarks from the White House tonight . . . here's a thought . . . we would have more schools with armed resource officers if it weren't for the relentless high volume shrieks of the left wing anti-second amendment brigade.

So if your school or school district is wondering about whether to train and arm a teacher or guidance counselor . . . how about reaching out to some of these Navy Seals or Army Rangers or Force Recon Marines who've been kicked out of the service for refusing to be guinea pigs for Fauci's useless Covid vaccines?

You think that 18 year old loser would have gotten past an armed Army Ranger? Unlikely.

Just a thought.

Britney Spears is naked . . . sort of

As you most certainly know, "singer" Britney Spears has finally escaped her conservatorship. I, myself, have very mixed feelings about those things as I have personally seen them horribly abused. So I'm happy that Brit's been able to get herself free, though I do remember the very questionable behaviour that got her in that situation in the first place.

But she's out now. So how to celebrate? Like any other creature of modern media, she gets nekkid on social media:

Pretty tame stuff to be sure, along the lines of all the other very unsexy pics she was putting out during the lead up to her emancipation. aside: how can someone who's spent their entire professional career marketing herself via her looks, be so utterly incapable of composing an attractive selfy? But what might be to come?

I saw a celeb blind a little while back that suggested that earlier in her career, she did a photoshoot for Playboy that was never published. Without her father controlling her career now, those images might see the light of day.

We'll see.

Megan Fox said it better than I could

megan fox boobs

What?! No, not that one, the Megan Fox that writes for PJ Media

If you may recall, a few days ago Ted Cruz sat in Congress and called the riot on January 6, 2021 a terrorist attack on the Capital." It was a ridiculously hyperbolic statement to make, especially coming from a conservative Republican member of Congress who has eyes on the Presidency.

Tucker Carlson called Cruz out for this on his show, and Cruz went on a night or two later to defend what he said. Many gave him credit for this. I did not. Cruz was the Harvard Debate Champion during his time there, and I had no doubt he would use those skills to weasel out of what he had said. And that was exactly what happened. Despite his clear and unambiguous words on the record, he claimed what he really meant was that those who struggled with the Capital Hill Police were terrorists and said that he had been on the record many times calling those who attack police as terrorists. Which I have no doubt he had, and he took time to ensure this before using this line to cowardly deflect from his obvious pandering to Dems and their joke committee on the events of Jan 6.

I commented on several conservative blogs after the event and got the usual pushback about how awesome Cruz is, and how he'd be a great President and all the things he had done, blah, blah, blah . . .

Problem is, I've always felt Cruz was all talk -- no action. Or since he's from Texas -- all hat, no cattle. He got the sh*t scared out of him a few years ago when soy boy Beto O'Rourke gave him a serious run for his Senate seat, and Cruz wants to stay on the grift for as long as possible. He won't do anything that might be held against him during an election. So it's always the safe route for him.

Enter PJ Media's Megan Fox. She did all the heavy lifting for me, exposing Cruz' very empty resume in Congress. Check out the article here, it's well worth the read. But allow me to excerpt this one passage as she shows the dearth of serious legislation sponsored by Cruz during his time in Congress:

"Looking through his legislative history, Cruz is on a bunch of bills that haven’t gone anywhere. The most recent bills that passed the senate are the United States Army Rangers Veterans of World War II Congressional Gold Medal Act and the Ghost Army Congressional Medal Act. I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t seem to be all that important to me considering we are facing the most insane takeover of personal freedoms in our lifetimes. (And also, what’s a Ghost Army? Is this an episode of Scooby-Doo? What are they doing in D.C.?) The most recent bill that became a law with his name on it “establishes measures to monitor, report on, and address corruption and human rights abuses in Nicaragua.
And don’t forget the bill to 'designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 909 West Holiday Drive in Fate, Texas, as the "Ralph Hall Post Office".' Thank God for Ted Cruz, the defender of … the right to name a Post Office after a politician."
And now today, we see Cruz again, "grilling" some nobody from the FBI about provocateurs and undercover agents at the Jan 6 riot. Everyone is making whoopie over this, but what did it accomplish? This chick is sitting in her office (why don't they drag these bums into the Chambers and make them face the music face to face? Screw Covid protocols!) with her shoes off under the desk simply saying "I can't answer that" to every question she was asked. So what was accomplished? Nothing. As usual. Oh Cruz gets more props for being a "tough guy," but other than giving himself some quickie clips for his Facebook page or Twitter feed, we got nothing out of his grand performance. Just like the hearings on the Tech moguls, just like anything with Fauci, etc.

I may like listening to him opine in interviews, but this do nothing Senator doesn't belong behind the Resolute Desk.

America died a little today

Remember this day -- Jan 11, 2021 this is the day totalitarianism took off the mask and let the country and the world see who they are and what power they yield.

For several years now, liberals in the media have laughed and mocked conservatives for their complaints about being silenced on social media and being de-monitized and shadow banned and multiple other attempts to censor speech that they, the left, don't approve of. "Don't like it?" They laugh. "Start your own platforms." Well, someone did. And Parler became the number one app on Apple and Google Play as tens of thousands of fed up conservatives flocked to a platform that wouldn't restrict their First Amendment rights to speak freely.

But as of this morning, Parler is off line. Cut off by Amazon web-hosting services, because a bunch of whiny bitch soyboys in their company wrote a letter to Jeff Bezos, the richest man in the world, and complained that he was allowing speech they didn't approve of.

Only a few days ago, we saw the major communications platforms shut the President of the United States out. Don't think of this as Trump, think of this as the office. Tech companies just shut down the leader of the free world. Decided his voice should not be heard. And the left cheered. CNN and various manscaped pantiwaists are calling for Fox News and any number of conservative bloggers and writers to be banned and deplatformed (a delightfully orwellian term for censoring someone). How long before something as minor as this blog are wiped off the internet? Are you scared? You should be. Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey, Jeff Bezos and a company called Alphabet Inc., are now the most powerful entities in the world.

Did you put them in charge? Did you vote for them? Agree to their vision? Perhaps not tacitly, but we have all stood by and allowed Big Tech to take control of every aspect of our lives. They are insinuated into the very fabric of our existence. What to do? Is there anything we can do?

Don't look to politicians, they are all either power hungry facists looking to control every aspect of your life, silence dissent and create a two tiered society with them and their enablers (press/media, useful idiot celebs and the entertainment industry) at the top and the 300+ million other Americans as serfs. This is only a slightly more comfortable version of what Soviet Russia looked like (and probably still does for the most part) back in the cold war era.

The other group of politicians, we'll call them Republicans, don't have any interest in reigning in this horror. Many people, including myself, have been warning about this day for a while now. Republicans in the House and Senate don't care about you, all they care about is riding that gravy train. Oh they make wonderful sounding speaches and spout angry rhetoric (looking right at you Ted Cruz) but they won't actually push for anything. And if you have noticed, they only get loud when they know they are powerless to actually accomplish something. Like now.

Listen to the outcry from R's in Congress. They could have stopped this years ago. Twitter and Facebook are monopolies, have any doubt? Look what they have done in shutting down their competition. This is actual collusion, by the way. But when R's had the chance, they held whimpy little hearings that let Dorsey and Zuckerberg off the hook. I spent 10 years as a union steward doing plenty of grievances and arbitrations, I could have twisted these two soyboys up, but our vaunted betters, all those Harvard debate champs and former prosecutors and such led hearings so feeble, those guys must have been laughing when they got offline from the hearings.

And why did that happen? Because Ted Cruz doesn't want his Twitter account closed, doesn't want his Facebook page erased. He still wants the donations from wealthy corps and lobbyists to fund his campaign. So he and other R's will bark like dogs, but won't do much of anything else. They'll still go on The View and let those dessicated idiot harpies insult them and spout lies and they'll just grin and take it and promote whatever book they've got coming out. And that's the thing see, they want to be in with the in crowd. They want to go to the parties, be pals with the anchors on the very networks calling them a white supremicist, they want to be the noble jobber, never winning, always just there to take a beating to give the illusion that there is an alternative to the one-party country we now have, so they can go to their voters and say "See, I tried. I know I lost but keep sending me money so I can keep up the good fight for you." They are grifters, all of them, plain and simple.

And for the record, everything I've written applies to election fraud as well. The Dems told everyone what they were going to do, how they were. going to steal this election and these losers just stood by and let it happen. Why? Because they'll keep their jobs in the end. You might lose yours, but you and I don't count. Only our betters matter. R's will desperately claim they are the last line of resistence to a socialist movement in this country. But they aren't. That battle has been lost. Dems control all three branches of Government. They have showed the world the template to win any election from now on -- their candidate isn't winning? No problem. Simply stop counting until they can manufacture a couple of hundred thousand ballots with their guy/gal selected on them, start counting again and viola! They win.

Dems are already talking about adding Puerto Rico and DC as states. That will give them a permanent majority in the House. They've already stolen two seats in the Senate, there will probably be more coming along with even more squishes like Romney and Murkowski who will only vote Republican when it's a lost cause so they can virtue signal to their idiot voters who somehow still believe in them.

I don't know what's coming from here. I expect a lot more authoritarianism from the left. More companies punished financially until they toe the Democrat/Socialist line. Will people have the spine to stand against this? Who can say. We disreguard the obvious science that these cloth and paper masks will stop a virus particle that measures less than a micron in size and willingly walk around with our masks on and our heads down like compliant sheep.

I could go on, but this is just a start for me. Guess I'll have to start blogging regularly again. I've got things to say. I'm going to say them while I still can.

Movie review - 6 Underground

6 underground movie poster/review

Ever wonder what the Deadpool movies would look like if Michael Bay directed them? Well here's your chance with this little Netflix number starring Ryan Reynolds and written by the creator of the Deadpool comic, Paul Wernick and co-written by Rhett Reese, one of the co-writers of the Deadpool flicks.

Here Reynolds reprises his role as the Merc with a mouth stars as the billionaire with a mouth -- an inventor/tech/software genius type guy who looks at the world and wonders about all the icky people roaming around free to do awful things without consequence. He finds that simply being rich won't help him change all that. So he decides to form a team to do the dirty work he deems necessary without all that pesky due process and vetted intel getting in the way.

Being brilliant and all, he has this great idea for his team -- no names, only numbers, that way no one can compromise another team member, and if someone is caught or killed? Well, that's hard cheese old man, and he'll just bring in someone to replace them and give them the next number in line. Foreshadowing 101 -- you know that's going to come back to haunt him at some point.

So Reynolds is number 1 of course. Number 2 is a leggy, busty, blonde female killer spy type that has become ubiquitous over the last couple of years. Think Atomic Blonde, Red Sparrow, Black Widow, Anna, Hanna (okay, Saoirse Ronan isn't leggy or busty, but she is blonde, so ...), The Courier, etc.

Number 3 is a doctor. Female, hot, sort of ethnic looking, it took me a while to realize where I had seen her in film before. She played Jules, the sorta love interest of the sorta main characters in that execrable Pacific Rim: Uprising flick.

But so far, so good, we've got a rich brainy guy running the show, a talented killer/spy and a doctor. Now we get to number 4. Some Brit kid who's good (I'll get to that later) at parkour. ?!?!?! Now I'm not rich or brainy and I didn't spend last night in a Holiday Inn Express, but if I'm putting together a team to do covert wetworks and such, a dude whose skillset is running and jumping off crazy places is not only not high on my list, it isn't on the list at all. But if I'm a director looking to make cool action sequences, well . . . it makes sense. So he's in.

The next guy, number 5, is a straight up Mexican hitman. Played by the guy who played a straight up Mexican outlaw in the Antoine Fuqua remake of The Magnificent Seven. He plays the same role here, only better English and hygiene.

Number 6 is the driver. Good idea. Think Baby Driver without the shades and soundtrack. So the team is set, we get their intros during the opening sequence of the film.

And oh my, that opening sequence. After 13 years of making big robot movies where his actors run around shrieking at green screens that a team of geeks in Malaysia will fill with cgi mayhem in post production, Bay gets a chance to work with practical special effects and he's like a kid on a sugar high in the world's biggest toy store.

The car chase goes on for a really long time. The crashes are epic and wildly destructive, bad guys are dispatched with gorey bloody excess and all the while Reynolds runs what has become his patented acting style of panicky screamed dialog mixed with profanity and clever sarcasm.

The sequence finally ends with one of the characters dying. So Reynolds has to recruit another number. This one is a disaffected military sniper who watched in frustration as a suicide bomber blew up a compound with his comrades in it because his superiors wouldn't give him the green light on a kill shot. Reynolds brings this guy on board with the promise he'll never tell him not to pull the trigger. Yeah, about that foreshadowing . . .

So the team is now set. They have a cool hideout in one of those airplane graveyards Bay likes so much. Funny how we never see people sweating like pigs inside those old airplane bodies that would be over 140 degrees on a summer day. Or watch the rain pour through all the holes in the rusted hulks, or . . . well, you get my drift.

Number 7 learns, to his horror, that this team he just sacrificed everything to join (all the team members have their id's erased and are officially dead to the world now) is still on their first mission, and pretty much everything went wrong so far which lead to the car chase/crash that got him here.

The actual mission? A murderous corrupt dictator in Somewhereistan is gassing his own people and doing other awful things while he keeps his benign brother captive on the other side of the world in a sumptuous penthouse prison. So, break out the brother, orchestrate a rebellion, depose the dictator and install the nice guy on the throne. Simple, no?

No.

Along the way lots of action and big sweeping vistas. Lots of Bay's trademark explosions. Everything foreshadowed earlier in the film comes to bear. Bay uses a technique during some shots of literally highlighting what he wants you to pay attention to and I'm not sure if it's him being lazy or just having fun. The getaway car in the opening sequence is neon green in a sea of black chase cars. Number 3 enters a building in a skin tight neon yellow dress while everyone else is dressed in black or dark colors. Made me chuckle a bit.

Number 4's expertise in parkour comes into question as he can't outrun four thugs in business suits as he scampers across rooftops and scaffolding and such. And Reynolds vacillates between comically inept panickiness and a deadly skillset to the point that number 7, after watching Reynolds effortlessly dispatch someone who caught him by surprise speaks for the audience when he says over the coms that "someone has to explain to me where that came from." My answer would be that the writers/star/director couldn't decide what exactly they wanted Reynolds character to be.

Anyways, there's a cool sequence on a luxury yacht towards the end. Everything works out for the best. We see in the opening bit at the hideout that Reynolds character has identified either 10 or 11 people that have to be dealt with. Nice set up, but I doubt we'll see 10 more of these.

Is it worth your time? If you've got Netflix, you've already paid for it. And compared to some of the other drivel there that passes for movies, you could do a lot worse. No nudity, some PG-13 sex (which surprises me for an R rated film made by a guy like Bay who isn't shy about exploiting hot women in his movies), and plenty of bad language.

All in all, it's more of a curiosity watch for me. And I would imagine anyone else. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way for it. And since it's basically a made-for-tv flick, I won't be including it with my regular movie review menu. Check it out. Feel free to comment below if you like.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Math is hard

I haven't had a weekday off in a while. So as a treat to myself, I went by Dunkin Donuts to pick up a half dozen donuts for the weekend.

No, I wasn't going to eat them all by myself in one sitting. sheesh

Anyway, I pull up to the window and there's a large, sort of doughy and effeminate young man in a bandana at the register, totally flustered. He waves his arms around for a minute and then asks me to repeat my order. I do and he smiles thankfully to me. The price is $6.09

I hand him a $20 bill and one dime. He turns back to the register and types away.

Then he hands me the dime back. And I'm thinking he's just grace-ing me the nine cents, which is a bit ridiculous (I worked fast food for a while and a penny or two is one thing, anything over that and you're asking for trouble), but I took it and wondered where this was going.

Next come the donuts. And then the kicker.

He gives me $14.02 in change.

?!?!?!

I triple counted the bills because I was half expecting to find out he gave me a five instead of a ten, but he didn't and I just drove home, amazed at the whole experience.

How can you f*ck up a transaction like that? I get that he was having a flustery day though I wasn't sure why since there was no line at the drive through, but maybe it was his first day or something. I'm not unsympathetic. But the register gives you the correct change when you ring in what the customer gave you.

Is this where our educational system is taking us? Who's going to build rockets and solve science mysteries and create medicines when we're churning out young folks who can't make change. Being a superstar with your smart phone doesn't actually make you smart, you know?

*sigh*

Celebrity blind of the day

"It didn't take [long for] the alliterate former actress turned escort to find a new 'boyfriend.' As I have told you for the past year, the men have been much older than herself because the men her age are going way younger."

The clue here is "alliterate former actress turned escort" as that is CDAN's shorthand for Lindsay Lohan, who for the past couple of years has been sorta pimping herself out to various sheiks and sultans and such in the middle east who want an American movie star on their arms regardless of how far her star has fallen.

Supposedly Linds might turn up on that Masked Singer show this season, so that might end up being interesting. Especially if she were to win. She actually had some singing talent back in the day and frankly, she had potential as an actress too. Kinda sad how she went off the rails.

Be funny if this blind is revealed to be someone else.

Need a definition for hypocrisy?

dem hypocrisy on climate emergency

All 17 Democrat contenders for President descended on Iowa this weekend and at one point had a Steak Fry where they grilled 10,500 steaks and hamburgers for attendees.

Got that?!

The same party that is shaming you for eating meat, is threatening to levy a tax on beef to get you to stop eating it because, supposedly, even though they can't prove it, beef consumption is killing the planet. Spent the day dumping heaven only knows how much CO2 into the atmosphere whilst grilling planet killing beef.

If they're so concerned about the planet, why weren't they handing out tofu patties, or soy mush or some sort of protein gruel for their oh so righteous voters to consume so that they could show us troglodyte conservatives how to live properly.

As I said in the previous post, it's almost as if they don't actually believe their own bullsh*t!

Also, don't forget, they all flew private jets out to Iowa and are all staying in luxury hotels that aren't carbon neutral. So they've f*cked the planet even more according to their own rules.

Just a public service announcement for ya.

Let's talk about this "existential threat" for a moment

Yesterday was, of course, yet another climate strike by school children in effort to save the planet. Ever notice how they never do these strikes on a Wednesday? So they have to come back to school the next day and deal with the feedback from their noble efforts? Yeah, funny how they always make their sacrifice into a holiday weekend isn't it?

Anyway, here's my thing on this -- everyone is using the word existential about man-caused or anthropogenic climate change, though they drop the man-caused part because it is easier to bludgeon opponents into silence by claiming they are climate deniers as though people like myself deny climate exists or something. Orwell would be proud of this torturing of language. But I'm not sure existential is the right word to use. I suppose they mean it as relating to existence, but I'm still not sure if that's the right word. But my vocabulary isn't that overwhelming, so I could be wrong here.

But what we're hearing, from everyone on the left and all these poor children who've been terrorized by the liberal school system is that we have 10 to 15 years until the planet is dead. You've heard it -- we're one generation away from the Earth being unable to sustain life. Some of those kids were testifying in front of Congress (don't get me started on that) and saying we had mere months before the damage to the Earth was unrepairable. And so on.

Okay, let's start from that assumption. We would need to be on the brink of an apocalyptic level of destruction seen only in disaster movies. And with that coming in mere months or years, we should easily be able to point to a multitude of indicators that something is happening adversely to our planet.

So . . . point to something. Anything. I'll wait.

Yeah. Exactly. They can't. No one pushing this supposed threat can. They mouth scary scenarios and fancy words, but can't do anything but flap their gums.

We've heard the nonsense about the planet being on fire. What rubbish. Climate scientologists tried to point to the fires in the Amazon as proof, but that quickly got squashed as the news that those fires were mostly set by farmers prepping the land for the upcoming planting season.

We hear all the time about global temps rising. But how much are they actually rising? Let's look at some data:

global temps not rising

This graph shows global temperature trends from the 1850's through 2019. The grey lines with the wild divergences are the 12 month averages. They look crazy. And that shows what happens when you take only a small subset of data into account. Look at the dark blue line made from averaging temps over a ten year period. It's barely a ripple. And that's the point -- it's easy to jump to hysterical conclusions over short term trends. Also shown is that despite steadily climbing planetary CO2 levels, the global temps have barely risen. In fact, we've seen a slight cooling trend recently and with a Grand Solar Minimum starting, we may see even more cooling in the coming years or decades.

So as we've seen over and over again, from actual data, not hysterics on Twitter, CO2 is not acting as a greenhouse gas (as many reputable scientists have tried to point out and been shouted down by actors, musicians, tv pundits and other faux scientists) and warming the planet. We are just now coming out of a 25 year period that climate hysterics have referred to as The Pause because temps were flat-lined. The last couple of years have seen fluctuations of a fraction of a degree Celsius and actually within the margin of error. So no one can say with certainty that the planet is warming alarmingly.

We've heard for years that Arctic ice was melting at a dangerous rate. In 2007, Al Gore famously predicted there would be no polar ice in ten years. Well, here we are 12 years later and polar ice is still there, just ask those idiots who had to be rescued from their climate apocalypse excursion this week. In fact, we had record ice growth just two years ago and arctic ice is doing what it has always done for as long as we've been able to watch it -- it grows in winter and melts in summer. F*cking duh!

polar ice not disappearing

Moral coward Pete Buttigieg said in a recent Presidential Debate that there would be entire countries wiped off the map in a few short years because of rising sea levels. Really Pete? Okay, name one. *crickets chirping* Planetary sea levels have been rising that the same rate for 160 years -- 1.7mm per year. The rate of change for sea level rise is zero (for you math majors out there), that means the rate is not changing or accelerating, despite hysterical claims that it is. NOAA, NASA and other organizations that no one in their right mind would consider conservative leaning or Trump supporting verify this data. The former bartender with the bad boob job representing NY14 recently said we were on the verge of watching Miami disappear into the ocean because of climate change. Yeah, if you consider 896 years a "verge" then I guess we're on it. How serious are rising ocean levels? Well former President Obama just paid $15million for a waterfront mansion in Martha's Vineyard, so he doesn't seem too worried. Neither is Al Gore who also owns ocean front property. If they're so convinced we're facing an extinction level of global flooding, wouldn't they be buying homes in Montana or something. It's almost like they don't believe the bullsh*t they're dishing out to the rest of us.

But think about it, if catastrophic sea level rise is right on us, shouldn't we be seeing reports from somewhere that seas are encroaching on coastline cities? This isn't the frog in the pan of water here, with the temp slowly increased until it boils (and has anyone ever tested that old meme?), according to climate hysterics the water's already boiling and the frog is just hanging out doing the backstroke while he cooks. That's what the left and the children they've terrorized are claiming.

Bottom line, as I've posted time and again on this blog -- there are no increases in the number or severity of hurricanes, tornadoes or other extreme weather events. No increase in droughts or flooding. We are not setting record highs or lows at an unprecedented rate. The planet is doing what it has always done -- change, fluctuate, evolve . . . a living ecosystem that has thrived for millennia, and there is absolutely no evidence anything we are doing is adversely changing that. No matter how loud the socialist left yells.

And though there is no evidence that current CO2 levels are harming the environment, there is data showing benefit of more food for plant life on Earth:

rising global CO2 feeds the planet

NASA satellite imagery is showing a distinct greening of the planet as plants, that feed on CO2, are flourishing everywhere, rebuilding forests and increasing vegetation worldwide. Current planetary CO2 levels are no where near historic highs that occurred during the age of prehistoric era, and I am certainly not advocating pumping metric tons of CO2 into the atmosphere willy nilly, but seeing as how the US has already reduced it's carbon emissions and the rest of the world that signed onto that stupid Climate Treaty are violating it like crazy, perhaps Presidential candidates and students and climate hysterics might want to look at those who aren't acting as responsible stewards of the planet.

The long and short of it is that there really isn't some looming disaster here. And it's a shame that intelligent people are so invested in a political agenda that they are pushing this scam. There are no food shortages, there is no water shortage, lifespans have increased, we have access to living conditions beyond the wildest dreams of those living just a century ago. Sure, there are sh*tholes in the world. And each one of them run by totalitarian governments that starve their populations while hoarding resources for the leaders and elites of those countries.

And not surprisingly, that's what those calling for these draconian changes want in this country. AOC's own chief of staff stated that their Green New Deal was never about climate change but rather a way to implement the socialist economy they envisioned for the country. Ever since the first nonsense about anthropogenic climate change came out, opponents have tried to warn that it was more about wealth redistribution than anything else. Wealth redistribution and total control over our lives. Listen to the Democratic candidates as they tell you they're going to tell you what to eat, take away your car, take away your heating and a/c, tell you where to live and so on. It's not about saving the planet from some imagined impending disaster, it's all about totalitarian control.

And I pity the fools that are falling for this.

Rule 5 Sunday -- Double Trouble

tanya danielle

I haven't done one of these in a while so . . .

With print magazines on the decline and online 'zines and other content becoming overwhelming, what's a former Playboy, Penthouse, Hustler or other adult magazine/website model to do for income in the industry?

Well, there's always fetish modeling. And if you're moderately athletic and have a sense of fun about you, there are content providers like Double Trouble. A California based video company that produces fantasy type female wrestling matches. DT has a bevy of models that appear in their content, from veterans like Tanya Danielle to newcomers like Prinzess and even former hard-core porn stars like Misty Stone.

Whatever floats your boat, eh? Anyway, here's a few of their girls. Enjoy.

When Alyssa met Ted

alyssa milano gun control

So after a little Twitter back and forth where actress Alyssa Milano mentioned that she wanted to call congressman Ted Cruz out on his bullsh*t over the 2nd Amendment, the two got a chance to meet and Cruz live-streamed the meeting.

To give you a sense of exactly how serious Milano was about this meeting and how interested she was in an honest dialogue between opposing viewpoints on the myriad factors surrounding firearm violence and the complexities of dealing with the situation, here's an excerpt from Milano herself:
"Your stance has made you almost like this caricature of a villain, and that's why this meeting was so important for me, because I wanted to look at you in the eye and know that you're really a human with a heartbeat."
FFS! As they say on Twitter.

Milano's only purpose here was to attack Cruz with prepared insults that she could cap and post on her Twitter feed and also hopefully goad him into making some indefensible point about 2nd Amendment rights that she could also weaponize to attack law abiding citizens. Let's see . . . C grade actress versus Harvard debate champion? Yeah, that's not gonna go her way. Know what I mean?

But some interesting stuff did come out from this little get together. Milano tweeted the usual lies about 90% of Americans supporting stricter gun laws and the like. And she also proudly mentioned the fact that she has two firearms in her home for self protection.

Why is that important?

Milano has frequently mentioned via Twitter and other platforms her unwavering support for those with mental health issues, because she herself has mental health issues. She also has a long record on social media of behaving erratically and hysterically.

So, erratic public behavior? Check. Mental illness? Check. Multiple firearms in her possession and in the proximity to small children? Check. Milano is big time in favor of Red Flag Laws. Sounds to me like she should be the first person in line to be disarmed. Right? Think she'll have endless rationales for why a law she wants to apply to honest tax paying citizens shouldn't apply to her?

No doubt.

Celebrity blind item revealed of the day

original posting: August 17, 2019

This former A list mostly television actress from multiple hit shows hooked up with a counselor the last time she was in rehab so he would turn the other way when she had drugs brought in.

Heather Locklear

If you're like me, and you haven't been paying particular attention, apparently former 80's hot TV girl Heather Locklear has been a bit of a train wreck for the last 10+ years. In and out of rehab -- some sources are putting the number at close to 25 times, for everything from alcohol to pills to mental health, some of her friends say she doesn't particularly want to be held accountable for much of anything in life.

Just last year, she was arrested for physically attacking a police officer and an EMT for responding to a disturbance call and possible overdose. She spent some time once again in rehab for that too.

Some have suggested that her lack of a current job in television or movies is contributing to her problems, but kind of hard to expect anyone to give a job to someone who's seems like a bomb just waiting to go off.

Seems a shame. Her star looked pretty bright there for a while. Kudos to Richie Sambora for trying to be a steadying influence on Heather even though they divorced years ago.

Here's a few pics of Heather from her heyday:

Fun with Photoshop -- Brooke Burke topless

brooke burke topless

Photographer Brian Bowen Smith recently published some topless pics of model/actress/dancer/general celeb type Brooke Burke that he created for Chanel, I suppose as part of an ad campaign or some such.

And he certainly had some fun with filters and effects and such. Generally, my default position is that when you can't see a model or actress' face along with their bodies, I immediately suspect some shenanigans. But she does appear full face in at least one of the images. So I guess they're legit and the photog was just trying some artistic flair. No complaints from me, I myself, enjoy playing with filters and overlays and such to create interesting photos:

Taylor Swift -- a daughter's love?

taylor swift sexy

A couple of days ago, Taylor Swift reposted a Facebook post from her father Scott to her Tumblr account. I'll get to her Tumblr account in a moment. But Scott Swift's post was a humorous accounting of how he was outwitting his daughter and whoever else he's competing with over fitness steps accumulated. Dad Swift wrapped whatever device he's counting his steps with in a towel and threw it in the dryer. So he wracked up a couple of thousand steps while watching golf with his feet up.

Taylor's response was an innocent daughter's goof on her father about how diabolical he was and so on. Just some fun back and forth between a parent and his child.

Except the problem is Taylor reposted her dad's post to Tumblr as I said. If you don't know what Tumblr is, don't worry, it's a dying out platform that was once worth millions. Now it's home to lesbians and radical feminists and radical feminist lesbians whose profiles usually begin with a laundry list of their psychological abnormalities followed by some radfem manifesto about toxic masculinity, how heterosexual intercourse is always rape and so on.

It's a nuthouse for damaged women working on their cat lady kits.

Well that crew immediately went to papa Swift's Facebook page and were horrified to find out that Taylor's father was conservative Republican. Outrage ensued. And Scott Swift was forced to close his Facebook account to save himself from the relentless online abuse of a bunch of deranged crabby lesbians and feminists.

Oddly silent in all of this is Taylor herself. There's been nothing online about this from her since this broke. Far as I can tell, she's left her old man twisting in the wind. A sacrifice to the woke digital terrorists that make up part of Swifty's fan base.

Where are her calls for unity? Where's all her shake it off posturing now? Where are the pleas from a loving child to protect the parent that brought her into this world and nurtured her until she was able to go out and become a multi-millionaire celebrity/musician?

Taylor Swift is as calculating as Don Corleone. She stayed out of politics, kept her personal life personal and focused on making music and performing and became a superstar. Then came 2016 and THE ELECTION OF OUR LIVES and while media and female celebs screeched on and on about voting their vaginas and not being gender traitors, Taylor kept her mouth shut. Well, that just won't do in this day and age.

So two years of pressure and Taylor caved. She began spouting approved political bromides from the DNC and George Soros. She backed a losing candidate in a Senate race. She's all about open borders and government paid abortion and LGBTQlmnopetc rights and so now. That last bit is pivotal, I think.

Folks have been talking quietly about Taylor being a lesbian for a while now. Her very close relationship with Karlie Kloss and a few other leggy blonde clones have had celeb bloggers and blinds bloggers hinting at her Sapphic preferences. Her current relationship with Joe Alwyn has repeatedly been called out as him being her beard so that she doesn't have to come out fully to her fans and the world.

Which would explain why she still has a Tumblr account. And probably why she may apologize to her dad in private, but she won't do it publicly. Should there ever be any reasonable corroboration of her sexuality made public and she's on the sidelines not cheering on the gay rights agenda, they'll be virtually burning her at the stake, and doing everything they can to ruin her career. Why do you think Cory Booker and his campaign were paying Rosario Dawson to pretend to be romantically involved with him? He can't be running for President as a closeted homosexual, especially with Mayor Pete in the field. He'd be eaten live by mob.

So yeah, that sweet innocent teenager with the curly hair and the guitar, singing her own country songs onstage:

Yeah, she's long gone. Replaced by a hardened businesswoman. Any sacrifice to get to the top I guess. Maybe she's more of a role model than I thought. Just not in the way I had hoped. From one dad to another -- sorry you have to go through this Scott.

Movie Review -- Hotel Artemis

hotel artemis movie review

Let me preface this review with a short discussion. Why do they make movies? To entertain, of course and to make money, obviously but movie making is mostly about telling stories. Excepting flicks that are derived from books or comics, or retellings of actual events or documentaries, movies give a writer a chance to tell a story he/she came up with. And there are basics to story-telling.

Characters are defined, events occur, one or many of the characters travel an arc of some kind -- evolving or devolving to a point different from when the story starts. That's kind of Storytelling 101.

So anyways . . .

It's Los Angeles in 2028. The city is in turmoil over water shortages as the multi-national corporation ClearWater (in one of many too on-the-nose identities in the film) has restricted access to clean water for the general populace. A private contractor Pro Shield has been given authority to put down protests with deadly force if necessary. Against this backdrop we are introduced to two of the movie's characters and why they are headed to the Hotel Artemis.

The Artemis is technically the penthouse floor of an abandoned 12 story building in a run down area of L.A. Styled lush and baroque and old, it's had some upgrades layed over it that provide security and medical tech to turn it into a secure four room hospital for criminals. The set design is pretty well done, though everything is a bit dark and occasionally hard to see. But that's a fairly minor annoyance.

Also giving me pause is the "tech" at the Artemis. As I said, the year is 2028, and I'll go out on a limb here and say that I doubt we'll have nanites doing massive cellular repair, 3D printed organs, and medbots that can clean and dress wounds or remove shrapel/bullets on their own, in just 10 years. I'm not really complaining here, the writers had to pick a date in the near future and they needed the right tech for things to work, so it's a minimal bit of artistic license. Just pointing it out to give you a sense of what's on screen.

Running the "hotel" is Nurse played by Jodie Foster. I'm not sure how old Foster's character is supposed to be here, I'm guessing somewhere between 60 and 70 years old. Probably older as she's sporting old lady white hair and a lot of wrinkles and age spots added to the 56 year old actress by the makeup department. Foster's gone full method in this role, adopting a bizarre shuffling walk reminiscent of a geisha and a clipped staccato line delivery that I suspect is suppose to sound northern big city-ish. Whatever it is, it's beyond annoying. I'm not exaggerating when I say I had to watch this film over six times with the volume cranked way up to get all her dialogue and there's still some stuff I can't make out.

Her orderly, Everest, is played by Dave Bautista (see what I meant about "on-the-nose"). Bautista is riffing on what is becoming a common character for him -- the mildly dense hulking guy. I don't say that as a knock on Bautista. He's got that part down pat, seems comfortable in it and I enjoy watching him play that sort of character.

The two criminals we met in the beginning are Lev, the troublesome younger brother of Sherman (played by Sterling K. Brown), who we learn has spent his whole life pulling Lev out of one self-made bad situation after another. The rooms in the Artemis are all named after various cities around the world and the room names serve as codenames for the patients to insure confidentiality. Thus Lev becomes Honolulu and Sherman becomes Waikiki. The other patients are a coke-snorting douchebag arms dealer Acapulco, played by Charlie Day and a French assassin Nice played by Sofia Boutella. Again, see what I mean by a little too on-the-nose?

So the characters are in place. And . . . what? Stuff happens. People die. There are some interactions between the characters. We learn Nice and Waikiki already know each other and may have had some sort of romantical thing between them that didn't work out. We get to see Boutella doing another of what are becoming her signature fight sequences (aside: how is she not in one of these MARVEL movies? SJW's keep shrieking for a female led spy series, my god, here's your lead. Why can't someone give this woman her own kick-ass movie?! My suggestion -- put her and Hannah John-Kamen in the same flick and watch everyone's sultry meters explode! just sayin'), but all in all, what was the focus of the movie? Was there one? Is there one particular thing we're supposed to take away from watching this movie?

The Artemis is a hospital for criminals. They have something approximating morals -- no pedos, no serial killers, no terrorists . . . but bank robbers, assassins, drug lords and their underlings . . . totally cool. Seems a bit arbitrary to me. We learn that Nurse's teenaged son died of what she believed to be an overdose and that turned her into an alcoholic who lost her medical license. But she was picked up by the drug lord who runs L.A., the Wolf King, who created the Artemis and put Nurse in charge of it.

Are we supposed to care about any of these people? I mean, I liked Boutella's character simply because I like her. Same with Brown, he was much better here than that execrable Predator movie. Point is, I was only rooting in any way for either of them because of the "actors" not the characters they portrayed.

Despite why the Nurse was at the Artemis, she's spent 22+ years healing drug dealers, thieves and murderers. I'm not really moved by what happened with her. Waikiki is a robber who we're pretty sure has killed his fair share of people. Nice is an assassin working world wide. Everest is practically the only "pure" character in the movie.

The movie is like a random snapshot someone took and handed to you. You look at it . . . yeah, it's nice, and . . .?

I'm not hating on this movie, it's just something that struck me after I watched it. I just didn't get the point of it. You should watch it for yourself and see. The cinematography is very good, as is the set design. The performances, with the exception of Foster's annoying method dialogue, are excellent as well. There's some good bits of dialogue, two of which are spoken by Bautista -- one where, when referencing his position as a "health care professional" in a threat to someone, he remarks that he'll "Hunt them down and unheal the sh*t out of them." I got a chuckle out of that.

Like I said, watch it yourself, feel free to come back and let me know how far off base I am here. Wouldn't be the first time . . . heh

Surprisingly, it's fairly difficult to find sexy images of Sofia Boutella online. I'm not sure what's wrong with photographers or magazines these days, I'd be working with her every chance I got. Anywho, here's a few that I found, enjoy:
