Typical blogger nonsense

Gotta move my blog over from Blogstream to here, so this is my first shot.

Did my typical tour around the web after work today, crusing the celeb blogs and political blogs. I ran across Michelle Malkin's eponimous blog and her main column was about raising the retirement age to 70 or above. 'Cause work's so easy now, you see. And people are living longer, and yada, yada, yada.

Typical horsesh*t from someone who spends her day sitting on her ass, typing at a computer. Perhaps the next time her highness is out jogging in her $300 addidas with her personal security (which she actually needs, sadly) maybe she can cruise by a construction site and watch someone actually work. Then maybe she can wonder how that bricklayer is going to do that job until he's 70 years old!

I know it all looks like the Jetsons to these bloggers, sitting in mommy's basement typing away furiously. But there are millions of hard working men and women doing the physical labor that runs this country. And the prospect of having to do that until they are 70 or 80 is just ridiculous!

I ran across these pics today and got a kick out of them. Here's Catherine Bach dressed in character as Daisy Duke from the Dukes of Hazzard tv show. She's wearing the wardrobe that became so famous it's a trademark, like kleenex instead of tissue.

There's a lot of concern about racy imagery on tv today, and for good reason. But folks sometimes forget things got pretty spicey back in the day. And this was the late 70s and early 80s, at the height of the Moral Majority and all that concern about T&A programming. And I tossed in a screencap just to show just how salacious it was on air if you've never actually seen the show.

Amazing.
