Man of the Year

time magazine person of the year

Yeah, this isn't an original pick. I'm sure of that. But I think props need to be given to a God fearing, decent, conservative man who didn't back down when the full weight of the intolerant, bigoted, hate-mongering left in this country descended upon him.

We've seen time and again this year, conservatives who we thought would be standard bearers for those of us who believe in time honored family values and a respect for the Constitution and its role in defining our government, tuck their tails between their legs and run like simpering bitches from the slightest pressure brought by left and its media lapdogs.

Robertson stood his ground when A&E suspended him from his show and never blinked. Of course it's easy to say I'll just take my ball and go home when you're a millionaire businessman, but shouldn't our elected representatives have the same spine? After all, they are supposed to be representing the people who put them in office and pay their salaries! And if those people tell you to stand your ground and fight, then god damn it stand your ground and fight!

I see now that frustrated leftest haters are digging into old interviews with Robertson to try and dig out something new to obsess over. He'll weather this storm just as well, because nothing he is doing or saying is actually wrong, it's just not politically correct. And maybe the tide is finally turning on that nonsense.

We'll see.

This is why you never say never

So back in May of this year, I posted about Olivia Sprauer, the World's Hottest English Teacher™, who had been fired from her job at a south Florida high school for augmenting her meager teacher's salary with saucy modeling work as Victoria Valentine James.

Seems at the time, I remember her talking about her work as a model and how her images were tasteful and artistic and so on. It wasn't like she was doing Hustler or anything.

Uhhh . . . yeah. Oops:

victoria james hustler

Not that the lovely Miss James hasn't been keeping busy, but I guess it's hard to turn down money when someone's throwing it at you. The pics in the article aren't all that bad actually. I'm no fan of Hustler, but I remember how hardcore they used to be back in the day. This stuff is pretty tame by comparison:

And I did learn a few things from the interview. She had already turned in her notice when the school's principal got wind of her extracurricular activities (via an e-mail apparently). Also, she had her breasts enhanced at age 14. Eesh!

And the usual boilerplate about her being bi-sexual, girls do it better, Lolita being her favorite novel, yada, yada . . .

Plenty of the pics are the usual Hustler fair of up close and personal examinations of Victoria's lady parts. You'll have to check those out for yourself if you're so inclined. The entire thing isn't anything I think she'll end up regretting at some point. But like I said in the beginning, be careful with that never say never stuff.

I was going to make a funny in there about how even Sydney Leathers hadn't done Hustler yet, but there on the back page was a teaser about an upcoming feature on the toothy tattoed Ms. Leathers.

heh

Merry Christmas

charlie brown christmas

Just want to wish a Merry Christmas to my one or two regular readers and anyone else who happens along today.

I'm going to leave you with the quotation from Luke that Linus performs on the stage during the most excellent Charlie Brown Christmas cartoon:

And in that region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear.
And the angel said to them, "Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people; for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
"And this will be a sign for you; you will find a babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger." And suddenly there was with the angle a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
"Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will among men."

Democracy in action

So, it's another ridiculously busy Monday at work. I go outside to put a load of parcels into my truck and see this on the sidewalk in front of the office:

Yep, right in front of the Post Office, this dude has set up a little table taking signatures for impeaching the President.

lolz!

At least I think that was what was going on. I wasn't about to go anywhere near that thing while in uniform. With my luck, someone would have taken a picture or video and it would have ended up on the news or something. Then I'd be getting a couple of weeks off without pay for violating the Hatch act or some other nonsense.

Rule 5 Sunday -- brought to you by the letters f & g

frederique van der val

This week's Rule 5 hotness is brought to you by the letters F and G, which this week stand for f*cking gassed, as in I'm totally wiped here. Computer's been on the fritz all week, we've been working in the dark almost every night (and don't get me started on that Herodotus bullsh*t) and it's like where am I going to find time to do Christmas for my family? Sheesh
So enjoy the hotties, whilst I try to figure out how to get it all done.

So, Scully got nekkid . . .

I don't know if this is a "Save the eels" thing or a "Damn the Japanese fishing industry" thing or the opposite. I just know that they got Gillian Anderson naked for a promotional image and churned out this:

gillian anderson naked

Yeah

Ummm . . . seriously guys, Gillian Anderson is one of the most classically gorgeous women in the movie industry. And I know she isn't 20-something anymore, but between the look on her face and that hideous thing around her neck, they couldn't have done a better job making her un-attractive than that mess.

eesh!

I had to dig into my collection of X-files stuff from back when I was geeking out over the television show, to find some classic Scully hotness to eye/mind bleach that eel pic out of my head:

There's the episode of AoS that we've been waiting for

This week's episode, Repairs, was easily the best of the season. It just goes to show what they can do when they're hitting on all cylinders with the production. Of course the season finale is in two weeks, so it's like damn, just when it starts getting good.

This week's show seemed initially to be about a young gal who developed telekinetic powers after an accident (a typical formula from the comics), except that it wasn't that simple. My initial thought was that she would turn out to be a conduit or magnifier for other's bad feelings or emotions. But instead there was a man who was trapped between dimensions from the accident who was actually trying to protect the young woman, but instead causing more harm than help.

That, in and of itself, was a nice thematic touch. They also had to bring in religion, as in the woman felt God had abandoned her or was punishing her, etc. I'm perhaps a bit hyper-critical of these themes because of my conservative politics and the never-ending bludgeoning we (conservatives, believers) take from the liberal media and entertainment complex.

I thought they missed just a bit on that part of the show. Too often liberals misinterpret belief and theology and the consequences in the lives of those who believe and practice. The girl's feelings and the resolution with her infatuated erstwhile protector felt a bit off to me, but not so much as to take away from the entire episode.

On the plus side, we learned that Agents May and Ward are having regular sex, so much so that they have to plan their arrivals/departures to avoid suspicion.  heh

And despite their closeness, Ward doesn't know the particulars of why May is called The Cavalry. But of course, Coulson does, and shares enough of the details with Skye to get her, and perhaps the audience, to see May in a different light.

A bit more fx in this episode, the acting and action seemed more solid, and the overall feeling was fairly poignant. Like I said, definitely the best episode so far. Worth watching on dvr before I passed out from another exhausting day at work.

And here's a few more pics of newby cutie Chloe Bennett, one from the Thor 2 premiere and the other from her post-coital lingerie scene earlier in the year:

Sydney Leathers' got that shovel...keeps digging

Just when you think Sydney Leathers can't sink any lower -- from porn shoots/videos to stripping . . . she manages to find another level.

Rumor has it that the toothy, tattooed Ms. Leathers is going in for a labiaplasty (don't know if I spelled that right, and I'm throwing up in my mouth a little right now, so...) and has plans to auction off her . . . uhhhh . . . trimmings.

ick

Story goes that she's planning on encasing them in lucite or something, then will auction them off to whoever is so f*cking desperate to own something like that. I'm looking at you Anthony Weiner.

I don't know what's worse -- that this is a hoax and someone was sick enough to think it up or that she might actually be doing it.

How 'bout them Bucs?

Yesterday's 24-21 victory over the Lions was the Buccaneer's third straight win putting the team at 3-8 for the season.

It's important to remember that these guys lost four games in the final minute during their awful stretch to start the season. They could easily be 7-4 right now. Local sportswriters such as Tom Jones and Gary Shelton of the Tampa Bay Times have savaged their home team, going as far as mocking the looks of quarterback Mike Glennon. Pathetic. I wonder if they would engage in that type of shameless, shoddy journalism if Glennon was a minority?

Coach Schiano has done a remarkable job holding the team together through quite a bit of adversity -- from MRSA to Josh Freeman to injuries, and now the team seems to be getting some breaks their way.

I doubt they'll run the table from here on out, but wouldn't it be funny to see them finish the season at 8-8?

Natalie Gulbis is hanging in there

Natalie Gulbis rallied from seven shots down at the start of the third round of the CME Group Titleholders LPGA event in Naples Saturday to tie for the lead at 11 under.

Gulbis hasn't won an event in six years and has spent most of this season battling malaria, of all things. Local cutie Brittany Lincicome is well off the pace at 4 over, and my other fave Morgan Pressel is at 3 under.

A victory for Gulbis after all she's been through this year would be a nice thing for her. And she looks pretty good in body paint too. Which is nice for us fans:

Update:
Natalie blew up in the final round, shooting an 82 to finish tied for 29th at 1 under. Morgan Pressel finished tied for 16th at 5 under and Brittany Lincicome finished tied for 51st at 6 over.

Not exactly a movie review...

... more like an observation, or perhaps a musing.

So, I'm home sick from work the other day, and while trolling the endless movie channels looking for something interesting to watch (all these channels and it's always the same movies on, what's up with that?), I see John Carpenter's The Ward in the listings. Now Carpenter is one of my favorite horror directors. I have my essential John Carpenter collection in my dvd's -- his remake of The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China (not exactly horror, but a great flick), the very underrated In the Mouth of Madness and my all-time favorite Prince of Darkness. So I'm thinking I've found a new gem here and settle in to watch.

First thing I notice about this 2010 release is that Carpenter didn't write this movie as he usually does. Also, he didn't do the music, which again, he usually does. He's only the director. No biggie, I figure.

So the movie is set in the mid-sixties, a girl, played by Amber Heard, burns down a house and is sent to a local asylum because . . . it's a movie, yo.

Now I kind of like Heard, she's attractive and seems a pretty decent actress. I first saw her in the execrable Drive Angry and thought there was something there. I've read she wants to do the superhero/kick-ass kind of parts and seems to have the vibe for it. But anyway . . .

Once in the nut house, the other girls in her lock down wing get killed off one by one, in generic gruesomeness, by the fairly typical mishappened/scarred spooky girl. The hospital's staff refuses to believe Kristen (Heard's character) about the killings, multiple failed escapes ensue, the usual stuff.

Finally get to the pay off for the flick, and I'm thinking Hold the phone! I've seen this before! Not this exact movie, of course. But:

Yep. Back in 2003, this underrated movie starring John Cusack and Ray Liotta came out. And "The Ward" is the same movie. Almost exactly. Missing only one concurrent running back story from "Identity." So what's up here? Surely, If I'm aware of what's going on here, someone as tuned into the genre as Carpenter must have realized the stunning similarities in this new project to a movie that came out only seven years earlier.

Is Carpenter that desperate for work? Run out of original ideas maybe? I don't know. Often times remakes are done because writers or directors think they have a new or better take on a theme. That certainly wasn't the case here, Identity is a much better movie in every aspect. It won't put me off Carpenter as a director/creator, but it sure was a bummer to get that let down at the end of the movie.

I usually try to put a gallery of related hotness with my movie reviews. And this isn't exactly a review, but I've got some images of Amber Heard lying around, so there ya go:
